Greek Peak just south of Cortland is not a bad hill - almost 1000 feet of vertical and lots of snow this year. It's about 40 min south of Syracuse if you can get there.......

is any of this snow falling in central NY actually hitting a ski resort? the snow conditions pages don;t seem to say much. if they are getting serious snow, they could use a lesson in marketing.

any resorts worth hitting? I always wanted to give Snowridge a try and it seems north enough to be close to the lakes. I;d prefer skiing over say going to Turning Stone Casino which is what I tend to do when in the area.

.

Huh....quote from Snowridge report
This has been an exceptional month. In the past 10 days we have received over 6' of new snow. This weekend was one of the best of the season. Shame on you if you haven't been here yet, you don't know what you're missing. Snow Ridge has more trails, more lifts, definitely more snow and just more fun.

6 inches of new snow? I thought I heard that 12 FEET of snow had fallen in the area.

kind of similar to what I heard about CO earlier this season-record breaking snow falls caused the sensational headlines but I heard they were all in the city and airport. the amount at the resorts was pretty sparse.

so which resorts are worth hitting this weekend?

Snowridge? Greek Peak? Song Mountain? all of them? I've never skied at any of them. they're all about 40 miles from where I will be.

they are all ok :

Song 700 vert , Greek bout 900 vert--BUT The Ridge if u can get to it has more POW :D with another 12-18 inches on the way tonite /tomorrow

Its only 500 vert but its all vert no terracing , mostly open slope but several winders thru teh woods and if u can get some one to tell u where it is ---------is nice "off piste " there too

The Ridge is pretty "retro" and basic as far as lodge/facilities---but its a fun day ,

Greek has the most variety to offer and most vert

BUT I'd check all their sites for updates tho

Have fun :D
