Going out this weekend for first runs of the season, day trips from Boston. We're planning maybe Sunapee Friday, if they open, and maybe, for a stretch, Mt Snow on Saturday (probably 1/2 day). Any ideas on how packed they'll be? Snow's got a storm coming through Thursday, hopefully, so it may dump on them a bit, make Saturday worthwhile. Failing that, any suggestions on who'll have some decent snow without massive crowds Fri/Sat?

sunapee isn't scheduled to open till Fri. Dec. 3. i wouldn't count on mount snow having much to ski on after this rain storm and bad snow making temps. hopefully some natural will fall before the weekend, but it may likely be too little too late for tday weekend. given the huge increase in ASC pass sales this year and limited amount of terrain that will be open, i will guess it will be packed at mount snow if they open.

As said, Sunapee is not opening and sources in here from Mt Snow were saying the same thing.

Heard mixed reviews of last weekend. :-?

This rain is 'sposed to change to snow...maybe. I doubt many Bostonians will be hitting the trails. Maybe a trip to Jay if you can swing it? Watch out for the Quebecois...they ski as badly as they drive
