Wow how times change!

In years past we have had parties, gone to others parties, skied until the fireworks at our home hill, and gone out for a quiet dinner.

This year was quiet and cozy, no frills, no big hoopla, just snuggled in watching TV with the man I love.

Went to friends place, kids did some sledding, we ate some shirmp and sushi. We were home by 11:00. Yes...Trek, it does mean you're getting old, but there's no shame in that. Just as long as we remember our bones arent made of rubber anymore!

Despite having the perfect opportunity to go out and be crazy...we didn't. Kids were with FIL and we thought of maybe going skiing last night but B was too tired after working there 10+ hours yesterday and I just didn't feel like it after running around all day with the kids. So we settled in at home with some snacks and drinks ... but then B suggested a nap at 8:30 (yes, a nap!) and that ruined it for me. I felt like crap after he woke me up at 10:30PM. Just wasn't the same after that... we did watch Schooled and Steep but didn't do much else.

Getting old....

Having grown up with a bar, it is no fun going out any more, now, it is the simple things that make bringing in the New Year special.

Took the kids to Northhampton for a kids concert (They Might Be Giants) and then pizza and Ice Cream. Got them home and in bed and the rest of the night was spent on the couch.

A MTB ride in the morning, a lengthy hike in the new snow during the afternoon, a cocktail or two in front of a warm fire, a quick bite to eat and off to bed by 10pm. :snow:

........^^^Does this make me old? ^^^

AaaaHaaa, T..you MUST be kidding!!! Dick Clark....LOL. Dickie made Michael Jackson look like a 100% All-Natural poster-child..;-) Old?... no just smart....imo. I did the bartending, room service-thing yearrrrrs ago...but never got into the serious drinking scene....but miss people from the bartending, much friendlier than in the IT world.
Couple of us had some pizza & few drinks after tuning up the skis...BC Wackos!!!
To get into a good early morning ascent up here takes getting up at ~4am...the drive up and skinning/snowcat up..~3hrs...so we hit the sack early..then get up early...

Had a couple join us at home for dinner of BBQ dry rubbed flank steak, horseradish/cheddar scalloped potatoes, etc and then played Marine Monopoly with the StgMajor retired.... We actually made it to 1am (with midnight champagne) thanks to Monopoly!

Yep, great time, friends, food and drink. My youngest expired at 9:00 with the oldest at 10:15. Adults made it to 12:15 after playing Wii 100 pin bowling to keep us awake.

Spent the day doing First Night activities (model trains, bubble wrap stomp, puppet show, jazz band which he loved) with our 2.5 yo son in Chatham on Cape Cod. Crushed a bunch of beers at an early dinner. The entire family was sleeping by 10PM. Slept in the next morning. Works for me...
