How is Route 2 to Southern VT resorts from Boston?

What was your drive time?

A wee bit under 3 hours door-to-door, including about 20 mins for pit stops.
Presumes no storm conditions or highway mishaps.

I'm pretty laid back driver, about 5 miles over the posted speed.

grew up in Westboro, MA. family had a home at Okemo. This was the route we took and definitely the fastest.

Really? I would have thought you'd take Route 12 north from Keene, not go to Brattleboro.

The Keene route to Okemo/Killington is a big win over Route 2 because you cut the corner and shave a big number of miles. If you need to Route 30 in Brattleboro, you have to backtrack south on I-91 for an exit. I did that drive every weekend to Stratton as a kid and Route 2 to Greenfield was a little quicker.

I'm sure Dr Jeff is taking the Mass Pike to avoid Worcester. I'm coming up 146 from Providence so I miss the southern half of I-290. I go that way to miss the Boston rush. Providence and Worcester are trivial compared to how the Southeast Expressway/I-93 or Route 128/Route 3 bog down. If I can't get to Burlington, MA by 3pm, I don't go that way.
