Hey gang...

So with my impending wedding coming down the pike in October, me and the little lady were talking about where are we going for our honeymoon. First it was to Australia for two weeks, but she started a new job and getting enough vacation days up by then would be tough. So we though a week in Israel to escape all the christmas stuff. But with it being a 7 hour flight, jet lag, and etc... She threw out the idea of Stowe for 4 or so days end of December/New Years... A skiing Honeymoon...? Could this be real? She would ski for a day or two and the rest she would do the spa and stuff like that. So what do you guys think? It sounds too damn good to be true!

A keeper indeed! You may want to consider ski honeymoon where snow in late December where snow is a given like Utah, Grand Targhee or Summit County CO. Good luck on your nuptials and the honeymoon.

For the same money as Stowe:

Check out the Delta flight schedule and pricing. You can either fly out after work or fly early morning and be checked in and skiing before noon. On the last day, you can ski until early afternoon and still be sleeping in your bed that night. (Hint: Ship your gear FEDEX ground.) The retro-1950's Alta lodges are a pretty nice spot for a brief honeymoon. The conditions will likely be way better and it will be warmer. She's more apt to go out and make some runs. Alta, unlike Snowbird, has plenty of less challenging terrain that can be skied while stronger people traverse out and get some pitch.

You're very lucky....the money you save on airfare you can dine at some of the best restaurants in ski country...a winter wedding is a great idea...I'm bailing out on my buddys wedding in Montana cause it's in September but if it was in the winter I would go...
