Talked to a few people in various parts of Northern New England, as well as reading some posts made, and some places received a fair amount of snow! Parts of Northern Vermont got almost ten inches, Central Maine the same, north of Franconia Notch in NH they got about eight inches.

Where I am we ended up with about two inches. The snow has pretty much stopped, but the wind has picked up, and the temperatures have dipped down a bit. Loon is going to fire up their snowmaking tonight. During a little break from work this afternoon I went to Loon and took some pictures.

Snow At Loon 11-16-2007

Soon to be more!

It snowed lightly most of the day yesterday in the Mad River Valley but the ground was warm enough that it's only a half an inch left, at most. SB is reporting 12" on top during the last 48 hours and it's more than welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't yet have my pass in hand so I'm going to have to wait until next weekend to get any skiing in. With the cold weather for snowmaking, it's looking promising so far and certainly better than last year's early season.

Too bad they don't plan on opening until December 14th..but they may open on December 1st...Whistler is off to a good start as well with about a meter of base in the Alpine..Grand Targhee is 18 inches away from opening which could happen this weekend...and Jackson Hole should be in fine shape for their opening in 2 weeks..

Supposedly we're going to see some snow showers by me tonight, although I doubt it.

It's coming..look at the radar..the Poconos should make out with a few inches..maybe a slushy inch here in the Lehigh Valley..I think I'm going for a morning hike tomorrow on the Appalachian trail in hopes of seeing some snow..

Yeah, the question is more if I'll actually see snow instead of rain, considering I'm at about 400ft in the middle of NJ.

Pass has been good all week. By the end of the weekend Targhee should be good to go I would assume. Not much snow at all here in Jackson proper, but the upper elevations have been doing well all week.

I'm also at about 400 feet above sea level...but where I'm hiking tomorrow will be between 1100 and 1500 feet above sea level..we'll just have to wait and see...it looks to be cold enough for snowfall tonight..but I don't know if the ground will be warm enough for the snow to stick..
