My girlfriend and I just bought new K2s (many thanks to the AZ advice we got- we love the skis) and we want to know what we should do to them to store them for the summer. I heard we could rub wax candles on the edges to prevent the edges from moisture. Any other tips?

I just put mine in the closet, no prep. Sometimes I have them tuned first so they're ready for next season...

Once I give up the ghost...I take what's left of my wax (some remnant chunk) and wait for a suuny day, put the skis on the deck bases facing the sun...and I load em up with wax. I've already cleaned them off by then...a little TLC...just wipe them down to make sure there's no dirt.
I let the sun work that wax in for a while...30 minutes or so, then I strap them together and put them away. I've got the ski straps with the spacer and velcro. The spacer keeps the skis separated so the edges don't touch. The velcro wraps around the outside to keep the skis tight together.
NOT ON CONCRETE! The cement corrodes the edges. It's a chemical thing.

I take the shop for a final tune and ask them to put storage wax on the edges. I then put them under the bed. I've heard before to turn the Din setting down on the bindings to save the springs. Kind of like putting a car on blocks if your not moving it for a long time.
and ..... um ..... you still have a while left to ski. Don't rush that nasty summer.

My End of season Regiment:
1. Full Tune and Sharpen, grind included (I request not to wax)
2. De-burr, final tune of edges on my own.
3. Soft wax coat..sloppy, drip on the edges. (of course, the ski is 100% free of moisture)
4. Scrape clean as if any other wax job (dont scrape edge side of edge)
5. Second coat of soft wax...very sloppy, cover all parts of edge as much as possible
6. Do not scrape clean.
7. Vaseline on edge area to cover any missed spots.
8. Hang good skis on rack, lesser pairs in closet. Stored at room temp, climate controlled room if possible.

3. Finish wax job...your good to go in 10 minutes.

-hot scrape the bases to pull out all dirt and junk
-give the edges/bases a final check, sharpen/ptex if needed
-hot wax again, let em cool then scrape (gets wax back into the bases)
-hot wax the bases and edges, leave it, strap the skis together, put in ski bag.
doesnt take much time...its important to leave wax on the bases so they dont dry out and oxidize (the bases will look white if there is no wax on em)
