This is a loaded question. It's planted in advance.

Anyone been out Pres. week/weekend and can report? I'm particularly interest in how busy (skiers and lines) things are.

In light of the less-than-stellar snow conditions, I'm wondering if resorts are seeing smaller crowds?

I usually take a sabbatical this week. However, if everyone is grumbling and staying home, I'd be happy to grab the opportunity in NH/VT.

I fear however, that people have made real estate commits long in advance and went anyways.

Thanks!

Was in Killington yesterday, typed up a report in the reports forum. Crowds weren't too bad, seems most stayed in the lodges to get out of the cold. Actually it didn't seem any different from a typical weekend.

Stowe as a town has alot of traffic, haven't been to the hill though. People came, and they are cold.

I actually decided against skiing the past few days. The skiing is so bad right now that, for me, it doesn't even seem like it's worth it to go to the hill right now. I skied last Sunday - Thursday and conditions ranged from decent to awesome (I was @ Smuggs, Sugarbush, Jay, MRG). Friday things took a turn for the worse and it's all solid ice right now. I'm so sick of skiing groomers at this point that I stayed away. But I can't imagine the lines are too bad out there.

Was at Jay Peak today (Sunday) and it was a decent-sized crowd -- good for business but at the same time not crazy that the number of people ruins your day. The lodge wasn't too crazy at lunchtime and the only aggravating line was the one on the Tram.

The Jay Cloud was hovering over the place. It was a bright blue day but as soon as you got anywhere near the mountain, everything was gray and foggy. Snow showers fell on the mountain the whole day.

It was really cold though (they were posting -30F at the summit on the whiteboards by the lifts) and riding the Flyer was pure torture -- especially when the lift goes above the trees. The wind was so cold. I thought half my face was going to be sheared off! Decent skiing off the Jet Triple Chair in the morning - Jet, UN and Derick Hot Shot were good runs. Conditions off the Tram in the afternoon were too icy to be enjoyable. Did JFK as my last run though and that was pretty good and not too icy.

Hunter was pretty empty.. The parking lot was filled.. But the longest we waited for the quad was 5 minutes at peak time..

Snowmaking was blasting... Almost every trail open..

Was at Attitash sunday-Monday. Not crowded Sunday, Monday was insane around 10:30. Luckily I had gotten a long morning in by that point.

Ended the day around 11 when I flew off an ice patch into the woods, wrankling my knee and gashing my face. Luckily everything is OK. Going to the Doc to check out my knee today....

Tahoe vaca next week could be in jeopardy. Hopefully is but a sprain.

Loon on Sunday. Despite the crazy congestion around the south lodge, slopes weren't nearly as busy as would have guessed. Rode 7-brothers to North peak lift virtually the entire day. Never more than a 3 minute on Brothers, and same on North Peak. One mid-day venture to the Kanc Quad side of the mountain explained why North peak hadn't been that busy... even more icy and bodies flying everywhere! But lots of kiddies and fams out learning and having a blast.

Down side, very cold and windy....back to NE ski conditions! The lift rides provided a symphony of board scratching all day. The wind did create some nice snow ribbons to the right of the bumps on Flume during the morning!

Monday was pretty good. The crowd must have been on Sunday. They where blowing on Clairs all day as well as other areas. Clairs was groomed so it was a fast ride to the bottom. Things got skied off by 1 so I bailed at 2:30.

We were at Windham Saturday. Was some of the best snow conditions all year as it was snowing for the first two hours and they we're blasting the snow guns.

As far as crowds, it was kind of weird. One time we'd go down and have to wait for 5 minutes another time 20 minutes. It seemed people were coming and going seeing as it was soooo cold! We only stayed till 2 because of the temps!
