Man my Quads are burning today

Usually I gear up at home with a thermal top/bottom, throw on a vest and my ski jeans (a ratty pair my wife keeps wanting to throw out)

When we got out of the car in the lot at 9:30 (there was no one there yet, and never did get crowded)...I was dying..the car read 60 degrees

Got to the lodge and had strip sown to my skiveys(sp?) and just put my shell pants over that...kepp the top on for wicking purposes, but the front has a zipper so that came down, and I just threw on my vest

It was a stellar day, and we skinf hard all day. The snow held up pretty well, but it did loosen up as the day progressed.

I went 3 weeks ago on 12/14 and was amazed at the coverage. Yesterday I was amazed at the amount of all the bare patches. You could ski around, and the rest of the snow was good, but they had better get a cold snap soon.

Spoke with a guy in the lodge who works there and said with cold returning this weekend and that anna should be opening soon. I guess they have enough base over there.

We skiied every trail that was open (K is still isn't and it doesn't look like anytime soon) except Clair's, which looked pretty damaged up top.

The mountain stated to "fill up" with college kids around 10:30...I guess it's their break, but there was never a wait at the quad to speak of...just a lot of people waiting at the entrace

"Excuse me, are you lifting up?"

"No I'm waiting for someone"

"Well can I lift up?"

"Oh, sure"

Alll in all a great day

Just didn't expect spring in January (or the Spanish inquisition)

Good Homemade Beef vegetbale soup in the lodge

Lower K27 has not had any snow blown on it yet to my knowledge, and neither have 44, Annapurna, and 42nd St.

They have blown snow on Rip Van Winkle and Lower Highlands off the E lift though.
