Man injured in fall from ski lift

HUNTER — A 41-year-old Hunter man was critically injured
Wednesday after a fall from a ski lift at the Hunter Mountain resort.

The
man, who has not been immediately identified by emergency medical personnel at
the scene, fell about 40 feet while performing work atop a chair lift
tower.

He sustained serious head injuries as a result of the
fall.

The man remains in critical condition at Albany Medical Center in a
medically induced coma with a “brain bleed.”

It was not immediately known whether the man was
wearing a safety harness while performing the
work.



Bobby Malin worked on lift maintnenace at Hunter and as a bartender at Horton Smith. He is in a medically induced coma in critical conditon with many broken bones as well as head trauma. His parents flew up from Florida to be with him.

He was up on tower # 7 of E lift.

Terrible Accident. Mountain is silent about the incident so no other details.

Actually I did not expect anything - the newspaper did not have his name but everyone in town knew it.

remember when that poor guy got killed with the pipe dragon, and the local papers had it reported as a snow blower accident -

I am praying for Bobby and his family.

Many decades ago I painted most of the ski towers at Hunter Mtn.

Wow this extremely sad news that hits home.

Lots of prayers going out to Bobby and family.

I heard he was doing a bit better but they couldn't tell me how..
