Any chance you guys could do a "ski off" like the old days. And keep beginners from skiing from the top where they shouldnt be?

I thought this was funny:

The people you might see skiing around the Mountain in the gold jackets are also known as Mountain Ambassadors. New for the 04/05 season, the role of the Ambassadors is to enhance the monitoring of traffic on the main mountain. This past year, one of their main duties was to educate reckless skiers and riders, encouraging them to ski and ride in control. Sometimes you might even see them rewarding cautious skiers with coupons for free hot chocolate, or handing out free group lessons to encourage beginners to take a lesson instead of skiing terrain above their ability. Ambassadors are on the mountain to help promote safety as well.

mmmm.. hot chocolate... better start skiing cautiously, maybe I'll be one of the lucky few! hehehe..

 I noticed that too...my reaction was that they ought to give those cautious skiers a voucher for a free beer to loosen them up a little.

Thought it was really cool that Sarah offered this here:

In an effort to create a better experience for our guests, we would like to invite a small group of loyal Hunter skiers and riders to participate in a "walk-through" of the base lodge with Russ Coloton, President of Hunter Mountain. We feel that it is important to consider our guests' input in this process, which will ultimately improve the look and feel of our base lodge. If interested, please send an email to myself, Sarah Nagel at snagel@huntermtn.com. A walk-through date is yet to be set.

That is cool... But for me as long as i can get to my locker and the bar to get an apres' ski drink or five... I'm cool with the lodge..

Especially love to see 90 year old owner Orville picking up garbage off the floor of the lodge...

I love the bar at the lodge. It's definately set up for a bunch of pushy New Yorkers. A lot of space around the bar and no people having a sit down dinner. I can't stand having an apres' ski drink in a small crowded lodge bar. (Cuzzins at Mount Snow comes to mind)

I've always wanted to make a demographic map of that bar..
You can always count on different groups carving out a nitch there...
NYPD and FDNY hang out in by the pizza counter..
Ski Patrol hangs on the other side...
Instructors hang out by the big hall tables...
My crew hangs out on the fringe of the ski patrollers near the DJ...
Old school Hunter people on the benches by the sushi bar steps...
The "Slopes" crowd hangs by the windows...

Got a place to get sushi...

I thought maybe you could go scout it out and report back to us here in AZ. Then you could help us plan the AZ field trip to Huntah.
