This year, Hunter Mountain will be offering free Big Lift Cards to police, firefighters and members of the military. The Big Lift Card will not include the free unlimited lift ticket but will be valid through the season and available to all members of the police force, fire squads and military who present valid ID.

I use to purchase the end of season $199 pass for mid-week non-holidays season pass. Last few years I went to the Big Lift Card, which included a free anytime 1 day pass. Now that it does not include the free anytime 1 day pass I will probably not purchase the Big Lift Card this year and just ski Tuesdays since I live in Ulster County. I typically only get in about 6 days at Hunter. If there is a powder dump Wednesday night, I will just have to purchase a full price ticket on Thursday morning.

Yous betta get back up to Hunta this winter...

Don't see why I wouldn't make a couple day trips there. It's the easiest thing to do without excessive planning and when I can't get away for an entire weekend. I'll be sure to let you know/post to the trips forum.

From the press release: "The Card will be available at Hunter's ticket windows for $49 with the free unlimited lift ticket until November 1. After November 1, the Big Lift Card will be available for $49 with no free lift ticket."

FYI, the BLC does include a free pass this year -- as long as you get it online by November 1. It's $49 at the ticket window (w/ free ticket), $39 at trade shows and online (w/ free ticket) until Nov 1. Just to clarify :)

Hope to see you all again this season! :-D

Woah. That's cool. This might push me over the edge to ski Hunter a couple times. I wouldn't mind a guided tour either if you or JimG has time. If I don't end up with a season pass to anywhere besides Wachusett, I'll be trying out some new places. Hunter might be it.

Especially if I can bum a ride with Greg or Pat or someone from the NW CT crew.

That makes a difference. I was looking at the 2006-2007 Big Lift Card. If there is a link for the 2007-2008 Big Lift Card please post it.

Thanks inhalexhale. This is why we have ski forums to resolve these intricate details.

I am am a volunteer member of the local Town Fire Department. I wonder if that counts. Actually I am not a fireman. I do go on 100s of EMT-B calls every year and I am an EMT-B Lab Instructor (CLI). I also do physical vitals checks as the firemen go in and out of the fire. Does this count? If so I can get the word out ;)

If you can get to my area, I got you covered the rest of the way. You'll love Hunter!
