Well, I'm a day late letting you know this, but Cannon was sweet the day *before* the storm. The Front Five were getting buried with manmade, the entire top of the mountain groomers were in great shape (even Profile), and both Vista and Taft had just barely enough snow on them to make for a great time.

After the dumping (which I drove through on Sunday morning), I'll bet anything you had an amazing day!

I'm heading to Cannon this Saturday, and I see that even after the dumping this past weekend Kinsman is still closed? Is this normal this late in the season? I know Cannon gets windswept, but the trees have to protect the snow somewhat, and they've gotten a couple big storms over successive weeks.

I was at Cannon on MLK day and the conditions were quite nice, mostly.
Natural snow trails like Hardscrabble (upper, middle), Taft were scrapped down to the rocks and grass. You really had to pick your way down not to damage your skis. No joy here.

Trails that had man made base were in very nice shape. Middle and lower Cannon had significant ice underneath - the usual situation here since so much traffic gets funneled through here.

Trails off Zoomer were excellent. Glades were well tracked out. Kinsman glade closed - the snow was just too light, I was told by a staffer.
Overall, a great day - no wind, no crowds. If you really wanted to rip, you could, especially later on in the day. Seemed like I had the slopes to myself.

The area keeps making snow, so for as long as temps stay low, Cannon will be a good choice coming next weekend.
