I want to ride/ski Sunday/Monday, hate crowds though. Magic? Plattekill?

Has anyone been to Plattekill with kids?

I see that they don't have a carpet, but have a rope tow. My daughter is 4, and she only did carpet so far. Not sure if she can ride the rope tow. Any experience/observation you might have with small kids at Plattekill would be helpful.

All I know is it flat. go over it with double chair I believe you can see children from chair I think. I don't have children but I think it be good experience for children and adults who like blue and diamonds.

Dont have kids either, but the kiddie area at Platty is very small, so it's not like they can get in over their heads. It's a fenced-in corral on a flat'ish section at the bottom of Blockbuster.

It is a handle tow not a rope tow at the bottom of Freefall. It is right next to the triple and the double. It is very mellow. Powder Puff is a fun long green trail off the triple that most green skiers can handle. Overlook is the long green off the double and is slightly more difficult than PowderPuff, mostly because is narrower in spots.

Neither trail ever gets crowded. Since they are both at the edge of the area there are very few better skiers doing high speed laps on either trail.

The learning area and the handle tow shot from the double chair

Thx. maybe we'll check that out. Don't usually ride on Pres day wknd cuz of the crowds, but would really like to hit all this fresh snow. I'm sure Hunter will be a disaster.

We ended up braving Hunter today. Gotta say not nearly as crowded as I expected. Lines moved pretty quickly. Conditions were great. Was snowing most of the day. Got a bit tracked out by 12 but overall a good riding day.

Was at Magic today. It skied great, but unfortunately was packed. I would say I waited an average of 30-45 minutes for each run in the lift line. The Red Chair never opened today though so that had a lot to do with it.

Supposedly the Red Chair is going to open tomorrow but they kept telling everyone today that the Red Chair would open at noon but it never did. Despite the lines the skiing was awesome, one of the best days of the season so far in my book.
