I always have it on me when skiing. And I usually keep it within reach when driving. I've found there are lots of pic opportunities on the drive.

I'm down to zero cameras. My last surviving camera, a Canon PowerShot A400, now displays "E18" when it boots and the lens won't retract into the camera when I power it down.

Most of the time I wish I had a camera would be while hunting. No real specific "thing" or "happening just nature being nature. If I were to be specific it would be shots of my dogs working in the field---something everyone who loves dogs should see,

This is the reason why I bought a small camera I can fit in my pocket. This used to happen to me all the time.

I tried that, but then I ended up hating most pictures it took anyway. Can't compare to the DSLR photos and I was just too frustrated by the results. So that means that unless I feel like lugging the DSLR and lenses around, I don't usually have a camera on me. I do feel like I've missed out on some great shots because of this, but in the grand scheme, it doesn't mean much.

My lense does't come out on it's own any more so I just bang it against my pole, works all the time now!

Town woods in Littleton, NH about three years ago in the summer. While taking short hike we came across a sleeping moose, it was curled up like a cat! It was huge! Really doubt we will come by a sleeping moose in the wild again.... he did wake/get up while we were looking

I almost always carry a camera.

If you have the best camera in the world, and it is sitting on a shelf, inside, while you are outside with a great shot... It is totally useless.

I don't want to lug my big camera around, so I got a Kodak C340. Wasn't happy with it so this year I got a Canon A590IS. Good at first, but then it stopped opening the shutter door when it was cold. Turns out its specs say it is not good below 32°. :argue: It has a snow mode, which is mostly expected to be below 32°! :smash:

In any case, I usually have one or another camera with me. Got some good shots. Some... not so much. All are better than the ones I got with my Minolta which is inside. ;-)

One place I really wish I had a video camera was hiking up Highland Bowl at Aspen Highlands and seeing a pretty intense avalanche happening across the valley. All I had was a crappy disposable and though I snapped pics, you could hardly tell what was going on.

Walking my dog out by the pond, river, and fields near our house. I never bring my camera but sometimes she does something ridiculously cute out there that I wish I could capture. I bring my camera less and less everywhere these days. Particularly skiing. I still take shots but not as obsessively as I used to do so. Never long for a camera on powder days.
