Mt Eisenhower and Mt Pierce

Conditions: Edmund's trail and Crawford Path were very wet. Felt like hiking mid stream at times.
Started out bright and early leaving Southern New Hampshire around 530ish. Arrived at Crawford Notch around 745 and got ready for a 2 mile road walk up Mt Clinton Rd. It was brisk out and as we ascended Edmund's it got a bit more windy. There was a ton of people hiking most likely due to the glorious afternoon forecast. As we approached Ike we could tell we wouldn't be disappointed. Clear blue skies with unbelievable viability. The fall foliage looked great. I had gone up on the snow coach last winter and the van driver said Mt Washington is hardly ever out of the clouds. Either im lucky or she was jiving me because both times I have hiked this loop it has been crystal clear. Anyhow had lunch on the South side of Ike and proceeded to cross the ridge to Pierce. My brother and I started feeling slightly beat so we decided to just hang out on the summit for pierce for a few miles. The last 3.1 miles were tough on the legs. I'm finding as I do more and more 4000 foot hikes that my legs take a real beating from the descending of the mountain. I think I just need to work on the distance factor and hopefully it'll get better. Still I prefer climbing a this point which i never thought Id say. The Crawford path down was wet and took awhile but weather was nice and it felt good to accomplishish this, again.
