Stratton was scanning barcodes through last season, but is switching to RFID for 23/24.I’m pretty sure that having RFID is a requirement to be on IKON.

Mountain employee has a handheld device that shows the photo linked to the account of each cardholder as they get scanned going through the gate, then they compare that photo to the person going through the gate. I’m sure facial recognition is on its way if it isn’t here already.I’ve seen people caught using someone’s pass there, how do they police this when the card/picture isn’t visible?
He’s talking about Stratton before RFID gates….Mountain employee has a handheld device that shows the photo linked to the account of each cardholder as they get scanned going through the gate, then they compare that photo to the person going through the gate. According to Mailman's post...Stratton was still scanning the barcodes last season. If they were scanning barcodes, then the photo on the pass is right there. He’s talking about Stratton before RFID gates….
That’s what needs clarification. There are no “gates” with hand scanners. The post talks about how RFID gates identify passholders.According to Mailman's post...Stratton was still scanning the barcodes last season. If they were scanning barcodes, then the photo on the pass is right there.

Read the post before. The question was how they verified passes when the card/picture wasn’t available. Minor detail but I think there’s a miscommunication. Not too sure what needs clarification. Stratton is just installing the gates and starting to use RFID for this coming season. Previous to that they used the barcodes instead of RFID so would have had to have visible access to the pass to scan the barcode. Urungus explained how RFID/gates display the photo. You said "no, he's talking about before the gates". I then explained how it worked prior to RFID to cover that scenario. So between those 2 explanations, whatever answer ColdRain&Snow was looking for should be covered.
Edit...I think I see the confusion since Urungus said that mountain employees have a "handheld device". I'm presuming "handheld device" refers to the tablets that show that info to employees while you're thinking he meant something similar to a handheld scanner.
Ok...I thought I had figured out the confusion, but now you lost me again. The card/picture has to be available one way or another. Either they're scanning the barcode on the pass and able to see the photo on the pass as they scan the barcode or they're using RFID and the tablet being monitored for that particular lift gate is showing the photo linked to the pass that was scanned via RFID.Read the post before. Which ones?A number of Ikon resorts still use bar codes.
Right. I guess the only question/confusion is if the handheld scanners display a photo. Mailman?Ok...I thought I had figured out the confusion, but now you lost me again. There's no arguing. Just trying to figure out if the handscanners display the photo of the passholder (I would figure they probably do).Boy! People must be super bored. Arguing about something so frivolous.
