Well this is kinda crappy. I already get "Ski"...which isn't bad. But I did like Skiing...it was a little more about skiing and not so much the lifestyle.

From the e-mail.

Dear Reader,

On behalf of Skiing Magazine, I regret to inform you that we will no longer publish SKIING as a print subscription magazine effective in fall 2010.

The good news is that in its place, you will receive SKI Magazine for the remainder of your SKIING subscription. SKI is the original, largest and most recognized ski publication in the world. If you are also a current subscriber to SKI, your subscription will be extended for the number of copies owed to you on your SKIING subscription.

Or, if you prefer, you can receive Skiing Interactive – our all new desktop digital magazine. A completely personalized, highly engaging product that tells its stories with interactive infographics, progressive rollovers, videos, personalized geo-targeted map information and much, much more.

If you prefer to receive the new Skiing Interactive or to find out more about it, just click here. You will receive all 10 issues of Skiing Interactive this year, plus next year's issues if you have more than 10 issues remaining or your Skiing print subscription.

If you want SKI, you don’t need to do anything. Your first issue of the 2010-2011 season will arrive in your hands approximately September 28th.

We thank you for being one of our valued subscribers and know you will enjoy all of the exciting issues we have planned for the 2010-2011 ski season.

Sincerely,

D. G. Potter

I'm now kicking myself for not sending back that $10 for a year sub to Powder.

I have cheap subscriptions to both SKI and SKIING. Bet they'll screw up and send me two copies of SKI.

Those basterds were calling all summer trying to get me to subscribe too. Bet they knew all along it was going to go away.

Too bad about Skiing. People on message boards love to rag on most ski mags, but I like them. Not great publications by any means, but they practically (and sometimes literally) give them away, and you get a few cool pics here and there, and the occasionally decent article. Anything to up the stoke factor a little when you can't be out there.

Totally. What a complete bait and switch by Bonnier. It's stunning to me that they didn't transfer the print subscriptions to the web version of Skiing. SKI and Skiing were such different magazines - it absolutely stuns me this is the path they chose. There should be a class action lawsuit.

That sucks, I always liked Skiing more than Ski and I got both so now my subscription to Ski is going to get even longer, great. Now I can read more about billion dollar mountain homes - yipee. :uzi:Bonnier.
