2" in the last hour, out of nowhere. We were supposed to get squalls, but this has been a very steady, heavy snowfall, with serious whiteout conditions from time to time. Still coming down HARD, and accumulating FAST. I presume its snowing even harder on the mountain.

Conditions were much better today than I expected. TR to follow later.

If you're willing to brave the cold, I think tomorrow's gonna be pretty amazing. Even the natural stuff was starting to ski in today, so it will be even better with this new snow.

I'll post a pic from the back yard in a minute..... have to reboot first. Stupid card reader...

Visibility... not so good. There are a bunch of big pine trees not too far away, but you can just barely make out the silhouette:

And, here's a high-iso shot with flash to give you an idea of the rate of snowfall, closeup:

It's been a mini blizzard here at Ascutney. Right out of nowhere - already an inch or two in an hour.

It's calming down now, but given that we picked up 2.5-3" in the Valley, there has to be 4-7" on the hill. That's a nice little surprise storm. We'll see what the snow report has to say in the morning.

12" of blower pow in the yard. Your pics have better visibility than the roads.
Were expecting windholds. Been wailing all night
it's great to have winter back!

Sugarbush report this AM

An intense blast of winter since yesterday afternoon has piled up 7 inches of new snow on our upper trails; 4 inches at 'mid'; and 3 near the base. It's windy too, so you'll find some deeper, and some areas blown clean.

Going to be sunny but COLD this weekend and looking forward to the refresh since Monday.
