I've got that issue of Vermont Life sitting in the "magazine basket" at my place in VT :) Gotta love the love for the cat operators :)

Due to the budget shortfall the Vermont Legislature is strongly considering shutting the magazine down. The crazy part is that the magazine is financially self sustaining but many legislators feel every part of state government should be downsized or eliminated in the name of fairness.

If you want to keep the magazine going you can email or call your local state legislator. As a photographer the mag pays well which is getting atypical these days with all the royalty-free pics photo buyers can use.

Out of 10,000+ images I have, there are maybe 4 images of snowmobilers but the last pic they bought from me was a snowmobiler heading out in a field near Cambridge with Smuggs in the background.

That is totally assinine. WTF are they thinking??Sure sounds like a socialist thought process to me. It makes a lot of sense to cut something self sustaining..:-o that is cutting off your nose to spit your face. I mean come on.. if its no cost to them just the benefit to the economy of having the employees of the magazine spend their dollars in the state makes it worthwhile.

Cool article, thanks for posting.

I had no idea the state funded that magazine.

The last issue I picked up had a story and a few pics of the guys who hand mow the trails at MRG each summer.
