Minus a good lift served powder day, looking to break in my AT setup. Don't know where, don't know how. Pres weekend seems like a good time, avoid the crowds and all.

Anyone up to be a teacher?

Anyone else up to break in their setup?

There isn't much to teach. You slap the skins on, release the heel, and then put one foot in front of the other. You'll quickly learn what works and what does not. Layering is key, bring more than you need but be prepared to actually wear a lot less than you might imagine you would need to.

TRT to the Sherbie or the GoS trail would both be fine first time options. Doublehead trail, Teardrop, Camel's Hump, etc. There are plenty of nice ski touring trails that require little imagination and are quick well traveled.

I agree Pres week/weekend is a fine time to tour and I plan on doing so somewhere at some point that week depending on how things play out. Don't make plans until the night before usually though.
