VT, NH, and Mass, in the top 10. Nice, I knew I was happy but this confirms it.

Actually I think they prefer to be called Latter Day Saints over Mormans...

Well, I was miserable as hell living in W.VA, so the 50th ranking isn't so surprising.

Happy to camp out in the 8 spot for many years to come.

How come? Nothing such a bad rating for a southern state.

Weather sucked, marginal skiing at best, no culture, crappy food, a very poor and depressed populous, horrible education system that really showed, rampant racism, mountain top removal scarring the landscape and other really bad environmental practices that made the place feel dirty. After three months living there, I was ready to get out. Stuck it out for 13 months and then peaced out.

Unless you're hardcore into whitewater, where it's the best place to be on the east coast, it's just a crappy place to live.

Basically the same in Kentucky, where I grew up. People are shocked when I say how much I hated it there - it has nothing to do with the land's beauty. It's the people, the lifestyle, the shit that goes on, etc etc. Same with Idaho. Beautiful state, horrible place to live your life. (Though you can't beat the skiing in southeast Idaho! :) )

NYC working their I know lots of chilling people and lots of money money money is all most think about. Playing and listening to great music and venues is a plus for sure. I worked their for 7 years and am tired of working their. Mid Hudson Valley NY has few fun things to do other then being close to the ski hills. I meet lots of nice people when I go west, I think generally everyone to me seems nicer some where else when I on vacation. Trying to find my happy state truth be told, I hope it can be Utah, but if not it close to friends in Colorado, and Caly is not that far away, I miss my family and friends in the east but I need to experience the West for at least a few years.:thumbup::thumbup:
