So, with this ominous weather on Monday I'm facing in a tough situation. Should I ski Sunday with huge crowds and have good snow, or wait until Tuesday after the storm and take a gamble on how much it will affect the conditions. Tuesday will most likely have fewer crowds cause the Canadians don't have presidents day.

Raises a good question as to when (or if) Canadian schools get a February break? I'm staying at Jay next Thursday through Tuesday - will I be surrounded by Quebecois?

Ontario Province has Monday off. Quebec does not. Both provinces have school vacation weeks in March. Just be a bunch of us American yahoos up there.

Ski Sunday. Conditions were nice today, crowds were not bad when I skied and non-existent in the morning. I skied right on to the flyer and also never more than one or two people deep in the Singles line on the Jet or Bonnie. Tram line was long. Silly vacationers stay indoors when it is cold out.

Steve,
A lot of the vacationers (oh, maybe 8 to 10 sets) I met yesterday were planning to take Saturday off due to the dreaded "arctic blast" today  They plan to ski Sunday instead  On my way down i89, the was a heavy flow of cars headed north, for a Saturday afternoon. Quite a few people in the condos near where I stay didn't show up until after midnight last night. Based on this bountiful, incredible empirical data, I prognosticate a mob scene for Sunday.

...or you could ski at some other place like Owl's Head or Burke. The latter skied great today....

Pretty much any ski area is going to be busy.

Billski,

You got this right. We arrived here at noon to find the lines pretty long. Then around 1:30 every one must have finished lunch and the lines got even longer. At least 20 minutes on the Flyer. Never seen lines like this before on a Sunday afternoon.

I had to run over to Mad River today to pick something up...OMG I have never seen it so crowded. Cars were parked way further up 17 than normal. Glad I didnt plan on skiing! Had to go to Middlebury after so decided to take the scenic route down 100 and over 125 and the Snow Bowl was much of the same. Never seen cars parked so far up 125.

I chose the right days to ski this past weekend.

The parking lot was full at the Snow Bowl on Saturday, but I skied up to the lift all day (with one exception being the Lang lift.)

Jay had no lift lines on Friday - no real surprise, but I was glad that the masses did not start their weekend a day early. Nice snow that day, about 4" of fresh during the day.
