What a difference a few inches of snow makes. Got to the mt around 9, all upper mt lifts on wind hold. Red Chair started running anout 915, got booted up, let the line thin out. The snow was really coming down. Made two laps before buddy got there. It was nice chopped up powder, still had some wind scorn areas that would throw you for a loop. 3rd run we went into canyonland. Solid 6-10'' in there, pretty thin underneath and had to ski heads up for open bodies of water. We then ventured back up the red for 2 more runs over to beaver pond, jfk was torn up, major hazards, beaver was buckle to knee deep untracked snow the whole way down. No one in there. Left the mt at 12:30 and it was dumping. Can see the mountain from the house, bright sunny skys over there now. Hopefully some more snow tonight, we will see.

Another good day on the hill today, 12/31. Skied from 9-12:30. The usual spots were tracked out, but still found esome fresh turns. FREEZING!!! When I pulled up to t
he Jet at 9 it was -1, when I left it was 4. I usually don't get cold, but couldn't shake it today. Road the jet 1st few runs, a quick run down the Haynes, Kitzbuehl had the bumps filled in but has spotty coverage and frozen solid underneath. Kits Woods was not too bad. Still a lot of hiden stumps, rocks, etc... Hit up beaver pond and a few tramside spots. Ended the day on a tram ride, all of the upper mt trails like green beret and Valhalla were bad news. May take tomorrow off, we will see what tonight brings.

Nice..it's good to see that conditions are improving..4 degrees for a high is pretty frigid..I'd be a 4 layer player in those temperatures for sure..

Goodness. I may take tomorrow off as well. Sounds like conditions are worse than they were a month ago. Hard to believe we got 3' at Jay 10 days ago. Last time I skied Jay, there was not much sticking through the snow on the open glades. Kitz Woods especially had nice coverage and that was before 3'. Not for nothing, as the base is really good, but this would have been a completely different start to the season had many storms tracked more in favor of NNE. The 3' was nice... but Jay isn't catching many breaks this season that it normally catches.
