Trip Report:

Sorry all you AlpineZone pervs were disappointed with my post about "Freaky AlpineZone Hook-Ups", didn't even cross my mind after skiing all day, six hour drive home, I would have been disappointed too. What a great final weekend. Cream cheese groomed on Jet and Haynes first thing in the morning. Nice corn bumps in the afternoon. Warm temps and plenty of sunshine. Glad I remembered sun block this time. Was nice to meet some of the minions, tmcc71, Shredder of Gnar, and Oz, I believe. Hats off to Gary, aka Shredder, you rip the bumps pretty good for an old man!
Wish I were more proficient, have to work on that. I did enjoy the mellower ones. Even the free lunch at Alice's Table was good, had the veggie casadia. The barbecue Saturday night looked good too, I didn't partake.

Wow have things changed a Jay since I was last there about ten years ago! Don't see myself dropping four big ones per night to stay at the Tram Haus mid season though. Since I couldn't find any freaky partners, I had to stay at the Snowshoe Lodge in Montgomery. More my speed, $30 per night. Not bad, clean, had to listen to the juke box through the floor, I used to live above a bar, it was mild. TV sucked, five channels of snow, had to go back to the Tower Bar to watch Celtics/ Heat. Amazing performance by Rondo after that stomach turning elbow dislocation.

Not sure how I feel about the RF lift tickets. It wouldn't let me through my first run Saturday, it did let tmcc71 through though, it read error, but let him through. The lady at the lift let me on, but said I would have to go back to customer service to straighten it out. I was not happy, trudge back through the mud, take a shuttle back and forth, trudge through the mud again. Luckily it worked the second time. Turns out it was one minute before 8:30, the clock at the lift must have been off a tad. I found this out when I bought my pass Sunday. I had to rub my thigh against the sensor back and forth quite a few times to get the gates to open throughout the day. I do like the fact that you will be able to re-up the regular passes online before you head to the hill. I don't think I'll be going there enough for this to be much of a factor, but those who do should appreciate this convenience.

Did anyone see the guy on the Jack-jumper? He was straight-lining Jet! The Devo hatted guy was on this skateboard mounted to a single snow ski, no bindings. Is there a name for this contraption? How do you get your pics in the body of the post?

Two of my runs on Saturday I had issues with the RF tickets as well. I had to fumble around with it in my pocket to get it to open.

Not sure why they don't just have it on a wicket like a normal ticket. You would think having it on the outside of your clothing would present less interference possibilities than inside your pocket.

I noticed my Greek Peak season pass was gone off my pants when I got home. I had it attached with a key ring. The key ring was still there. I don't know if I lost it on the hill, or on the way home. Perfect time to loose it, don't need it anymore. I don't know how much they charge to replace it during the season. That's the only problem using a key ring, no "give" to it, like the janitor key type holders they sell at the hill. I had one of those, the cord was wearing thin, was afraid of loosing my pass with that. Just noticed I f'd up the title of my post, 2010-20011, wow, that was one loooooooong season!

Part of the problem is the snow levels are really low so most people's pockets are below the sensor. You just gotta lift your leg a bit. Think like a dog getting ready to take a pee on the RFID pole.
