I wanted to get these pics up quicker but work got the better of me :-(

J was completely awesome (except for the wind) on Sunday. I was suprised to see so much white stuff even though Mansfield the week before had set my expectations higher. The %^$# was coming down hard heading up the 91 but then J came into view and my sad face turned into a big grin:

We decided to go up the Saturday night to catch some early turns Sunday. The Hotel J was only charging $50 for a room so we decided to stay there. My buddy Simon was given his room key. It was early season so we thought the rooms may smell a bit musty and the heating may be a bit suspect. We did not think the room would be quite this bad though:

Believe it or not they apologized, gave him another room key and that had no floor at all! Eventually we managed to find rooms that were not in the process of being built. We settled down for a few beers, then a few more, watched the weather channel and then had a few more.. zzzzzzzzzzzzz......

In the morning we had to walk the first few hundred yards and then it was on with the skins (for me and the split boarder and snow shoes for the other boarder). Up we go....

I'm knackered (Brit terminology for completely exhausted):

When we got up about 2/3 to the top the wind was getting pretty bad and blowing most the snow off the trails. The boarders built a kicker and we had some fun with that. Then the ascent began. It was at that point we investigated the glades. Wow. Skiing and boarding the glades in October. It was awesome!!!!!!!

Must get another pic.....

And another...

I know, it is hard to believe:

And to finish off with, a nice long run down the mountain:

I had to head home at the end. The other guys decided to stay on to catch some more turns on Monday. They told me that the legs were a bit shot that day!

Nice pics....thanks. And as for the hotel issues--this is an anomoly considering Jay's overall track record. They are usually on top of things.

The snow in the trees looks better than most resorts' gladed trails mid-season last year...

Great pics, keep 'em coming.
