According to their web site Jay is set to open this weekend. Probably with at least the Jet and Haynes open.

Was just at Jay today. Jet and Haynes are covered. Groomer was pushing stuff around on Jet. They have enough snow to be open by Wednesday once the snow sits and drains and gets pushed around. Impressive effort, way way way more snow than last year (well, better snow making weather than last November). Jay will open this year with better conditions than they had mid-December last year. With one foot of natural (maybe less), they could have Derrick and U.N. open as well as they receive some effects due to the snowmaking on Haynes and Jet. I am pumped!

I don't drive four hours round trip just "to look"

Of course I made some turns. And found the inspiration for a new avatar via up close and personal encounter at 3900' (welcome to 4000' my ass) :D Some selections from today's gallery:

Not many pictures of the actual snow making as I generally avoided those areas except near the end of the tour. Suffice to say they have cranked out WAY more snow than I had expected. Not to mention, Jay *gasp* unreported the natural snow that fell as they got way more than 2-4" per reported on their web site. But who is counting?
