Except Vermonter (and presumably Valhalla and Green Beret)

tram open but no vermonter? thats tempting for face/tuckerman laps. could mean not much line to use the tram.

i am generally a little annoyed by people queuing the tram to just take a groomer off the top. i feel the same about any lift that accesses premier terrain and has long lines. stop queueing to ski another groomer, im trying to get to the goods folks.

i had one tram lap 2 weeks ago because it was during the inversions and tram line was out of control for looky-loo groomer folks.

The average person anywhere isn't going to be hucking cliffs but does want the tram experience. Its a unique experience with only a handful in the US.

Mont Sutton is only 10 minutes farther.

Everyone who lives in the east & regularly skis Jay Peak should ski Mont Sutton every year, yet almost no Americans go there. Fantastic place.
True, but if you didn't plan to cross the border, can't just make the rapid pvot up there anymore. Have to have more than a regular DL on you.

In addition to my passport, I pay for the passport card, which is just a few bucks more and fits in your wallet just like a license. Anyone who lives within a few hours of Canada I'd recommend do the same.

Fun weekend at Jay. Glad to finally get some good tree skiing in this season with the depressing start in Maine so far.

I don’t ski here often, but I certainly don’t see the appeal of the tram as others have said. The line at one point was up to the Flyer line queue Saturday. Had to have been a 2+hr wait just for most to take a groomer. Mind boggling to me.

Given that top station is bolted to the rock face, no idea how you would land any other type of lift up top. Especially with ACT 250 to deal with.

Well, that as well as the profile of the line that it ascends from the base to the summit dictates that a Tram makes sense. FWIW you may know that before the Tram there WAS a double chair that ran from near the top of Ullr's Dream/Poma Line to the summit. It was named the Skyline Double.

Additionally, the Tram is actually a smaller capacity model than those that came slightly later (such as the Snowbird Tram that moves about 100 people or so).

Not even the Metro Quad?
Nope, it’s broken since Friday and they are waiting for replacement part sometime in next few days. With all 3 Tramside lifts down all day, no way to ski over to the open Stateside lifts for the unfortunate people stuck Tramside.

In a Sugarbush-esque move, they still listed 78/81 trails open in the trail report all day long.

We took advantage of this situation yesterday. Once we were good with skiing Stateside we took a couple laps in the woods around the Flyer and then took the shuttle back to Stateside. long round trip but had that side of the mountain to ourselves with much better snow.

I have walked up and over to stateside before not that bad but wouldn't want to do it with a kid under 10.

How long did you have to wait for the shuttle bus ? I figured it would be overwhelmed with people trying to escape Tramside …

Todays snow report:.

“All operational lifts will spin this morning
snip
Except for a few trails closed for snowmaking, our accessible terrain is 100% open.”

So all lifts running, except the one that is broken (Metro waiting for replacement bearing), and all trails open, except the ones that are closed !
