Former BALSAMS President & GM Plans to Bring "Grand" Experience
LINCOLN, NH - February 24, 2012 - Jeffrey McIver, who most recently served as the President and General Manager of the historic BALSAMS Grand Resort Hotel has been hired to be the new General Manager of the Mountain Club on Loon.
After spending the past two years at The BALSAMS, where he increased revenue despite the lagging economy and reinvigorated the style and guest service the historic resort was known for, McIver is returning to the Mountain Club where he served as General Manager earlier in his career.
The Mountain Club on Loon is a four-season luxury New Hampshire hotel resort and spa located at the base of Loon Mountain Resort . Loon Mountain Resort is New England's most-accessible mountain resort destination, featuring Superior Snow, Guaranteed, and offering 2,100 feet of vertical, and three peaks full of terrain variety. The Mountain Club at Loon recently completed a $9 million renovation , including upgrades to rooms, common areas, its restaurant and operational facilities, enhancing guest's on or off-slope experiences.
"I am very excited to be returning to the Mountain Club on Loon, which is such a unique property, offering four-season recreation and the only ski-in, ski-out hotel accommodations at what I believe is one of the best ski areas in the Northeast," said McIver. "The Mountain Club has the location, the views and all of the amenities today's guests want. What I plan to add are the energy, culinary excellence, service, and non-stop activities that guests rarely experience."
The 234-room hotel resort and spa, nestled on a slope-side bluff overlooking the Pemigewasset River in Lincoln, New Hampshire, has 117 suites that sleep up to six guests, each dividable into separate Club rooms with king beds and Studios with queen/double beds, a full kitchen and dining area. Four larger two-bedroom Grand Suites can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Visitors can enjoy ski-In, ski-out access, convenient garage parking, the Black Diamond Bar and Grille and the Viaggio Spa & Health Club , which features two heated pools (one indoor, one outdoor), a whirlpool and saunas, Yoga/Pilates studios, a weight room, and indoor racquetball and basketball courts. The Club's conference-meeting room facilities, accommodating 20 to 250 people, was a recipient of the prestigious 2011 "Best of the East" Award from Meetings Focus East magazine and Smart Meeting's "Platinum Choice" award.
"Bringing Jeff back to the Mountain Club on Loon is a testament to our ongoing commitment to ensure the greatest year-round experience for our guests," said Ken Lowe, President of the Mountain Club on Loon Management Board, which owns and operates the resort. "Jeff has worked at some of the finest resorts in the country, and between our $9 million renovation and his vision for delivering a grand guest experience we believe visitors to the Mountain Club on Loon will enjoy a stay that is rivaled only by our incredible views."
