Date(s) Skied: Friday, 4/13/2007, 1:50 pm - 4:10 pm
Resort or Ski Area: Jiminy Peak, Hancock, Massachusetts
Conditions: Sticky wet snow, slush. Cloudy, cool, windy.
Trip Report: A quick hitter for me today as my daughter had a doctor appointment in the Hartford area. Didn't leave until almost noon, but was able to click in a bit before 2 pm. Front row spot and Grassi21 greeted me. Chris and I did 4 runs - Foxes, Whitetail, Jericho and again on Foxes. Chris had been there all day so I bid him farewell after our four runs. Good skiing with you this season, Chris!
I spent most of the rest of the afternoon on the bumps on skier's left of the Foxes. Some actually pretty good lines there. Upper was tricky with tacky clumpy snow to contend with, but Lower was nice with soft spring bumps. Most of the rest of the mountain had similar sticky snow. Kind of a letdown after a 14" powder day last Friday at MRG, but I kept reminding myself that I would kill for these conditions in November and December.
The mountain is in good shape and can easily be open next weekend, but I doubt they will. You never know though. No waits for the six this afternoon. I finished up on Wild Turkey and was glad I did. Sweet buttery smooth untouched snow right along the trees on skier's right. The session was too short, but a fun day anyway. Day 34!
Came back to my car to find a note on my windsheild from Jeremy Davis of NELSAP fame who was also there today. Sorry I missed him.
