I was staying at Jiminy Peak and got the opportunity to ride the new mountain coaster, well 8 times, and had a blast. I do like it better than the traditional alpine slides. The ride is smooth, just like a steel coaster. I was told that the max speed is 26 mph.

When I did not apply the brakes it was one hell of a ride! You have to keep an 80' distance between riders, that was never an issue! I purchased a 1 1/2 hour ticket for $29 after biking.

I never knew my camera had a record mode, heck I have only had it for 3 years and just discovered it. Please note that the ride is much faster than the video.

That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing! Is it from the summit to the base? What ski trails does it follow? Do you ride the 6-pack to get back up the mountain? How many "runs" did you get in for the 90 minutes?

Man, I want to try that. I really like the alpine slides and the fact that you can really control them, but getting a good slide is hit or miss.

The liftline for the coaster and the coaster itself is to the right of the center pole double that is used for the mountain biking (M-F) and for the alpine slide. The coaster runs about 1/2 the length of that lift.

They do not run the 6 pack during the week. I recommend that you purchase the 1.5 hour or 3 hour pass. I was told the place gets packed on the weekends so judge accordingly. If you do a single ride it is 2 points which is $7.50. You can not just ride it once or twice.

The coaster is not on a trail, it is in the woods.

I also saw the warning sign to keep 160' between each car when the track has ice....I wonder if the coaster can be used year round????

It would have to be one adult & child or two children. I thought it said you have to be 9 years old or older to ride solo. It would get way to tight for two adults, in my opinion.

I think the weight limit was 340 lbs.

They did a story on this on my local news station last night. It looks pretty cool. They said it is one of two like it in the country. I'd definitely like to try it out sometime. I used to love going on alpine slides when I was a kid, this looks even better.
