Second day on the snow for me. I knew it would be fairly busy, with closed trails for racing, and the conditions could be sketchy.
Lots of snowmaking going on, some in spots that seemed a bit odd to me, but Killington's snowmaking seems underwhelming to me. Maybe it's the size of the place, I dunno.
Best runs were off the Superstar lift. Superstar headwall was decent, but completely skied off in the afternoon. Skyelark and all that were pretty fun, snowmaking on the trail with soft snow and bumps (as a snowboarder I did my best to groom them out).
North Ridge Triple died, which totally ruined the day really. Closed off that whole pod and left everyone who wasn't at Superstar funnel down Great Northern and those trails. A clusterfuck of people. Racers doing GS turns, newbies falling down. Just a total nightmare. Conditions around that area varied from soft under the guns to brutal boilerplate.
The boilerplate was really nasty and I didn't feel like getting knocked over onto that so left pretty early in the afternoon.
