I skied practically from first to last chair on 2/27 and most of the day on 2/28.
Saturday was crowded like hell. The line for the K1 and the Skye Peak Express was overflowing out of the corrals for much of the day, moreso Skye Peak Express since it was still overflowing at 3:30 even with all 4 plus the singles line open. At one point, K1 took 15 minutes in the singles line and Skye Peak typically took 10 minutes. Also, South Ridge Triple was running and most of the chairs were occupied, although there was no line. The first two hours were powder conditions; and terrain bumped up throughout the day, although it was still quite nice. Going down Superstar with pure powder was well worth it. It was well worth it waking up for first chair too. The only place with subpar conditions were the last 300 ft or so before you get to Skyeship base, as it was full of slush. This is a true testament to the benefit of elevation, since the rest of the mountain had excellent conditions.
Sunday was much less crowded. The only lifts with a line were the K1 and the Skye Peak Express. The trail on top of the lift was getting icy, as it almost always is. I enjoyed getting minor amounts of air on a few jumps when things were still well groomed. Superstar was mowed down, although it bumped up throughout the day and the sides of it were untouched. Enough of the other terrain was ungroomed, and it was nice going down that terrain without worrying about ice.
It was overall a great weekend to challenge myself and I even gave myself some good challenges, since I went down a relatively flat Cascade, and did good with that, and then I went down Big Dipper. Although it took me awhile since it was bumped, it was quite an accomplishment going down a bumped double diamond. Sometimes looking from the crowds at Skye Peak Express, they should have put a 6 pack in. From the ski patrol, he said K is slated to close on April 25 this year.
