cosmic downhill

Date(s) Skied: Saturday March 11
Resort or Ski Area: Killington
Conditions: Packed powder, wet granular, some slush
Trip Report: As we drove up the access road to the K-1 lodge, I was shocked at what lay in front of us. I've seen Killington with better coverage in April. Late April.
But despite a quickly-dropping trail count (ski reports I saw had them with 166 of 200 on Friday, 136 on Saturday and 117 on Sunday), my wife, two sons and I had a blast there.
We started by taking the gondola to Killington Peak, then spent a solid hour on Great Eastern from top to bottom (many stops, obviously). The Skyeship took us back up, and a fun but hard-working jaunt through some thick snow on a sun-dappled Skye Lark had us ready for lunch after only two runs!
After an early lunch, we took Great Northern from Killington Peak to Snowdon, then rode the Snowdon triple a few times for sweet runs on Bunny Buster and Mouse Run. My wife needed a break because her boots were killing her (they're gone after this season), so my sons and I stayed on Snowdon for a few more runs, including my older son's first black diamond, Mouse Trap.
We ended with another long cruise on Great Eastern, finishing up back at K-1 just after the lifts closed.
There was a lot of crunchy stuff, and some wet spots, too, but our boys' first "big mountain" was a really cool time. They deserved the steaks we chowed at Sirloin Saloon in Rutland afterward.
Question: Has anyone stayed at the Cortina Inn on Rt. 4? Would love to know other impressions of it.
