soft/loose granular, some slush, and FOG.
no lines at the lifts to speak of.

it was a heavy dose of spring skiing. the snow was as mentioned above but what was the wildest part was the thick and heavy fog. we parked at the skyeship gondola and starting at stage two it became crazy foggy and it remained that way for the whole day. foggy enough to where if it was your first trip to K or if you did not know the trails that good you were in trouble. going up towards the peak on the k1 or any others for that fact you could barely see the chair/gondola in front of you.
I took my 14 yr old son and my 21 yrs old neice who are boarders and at times i felt for them... it was slow going in some spots. the snow was very soft towards the bottom and if you got lazy (which i did) it will grab a ski and next thing you know it helped you display your gear for all to see. nice. went all season without a big spill and today i made up for it. in short, the snow condtions today made you pay attention more than normal.
we did manage to go from one side to the other (bear mtn to rams head) and we all thought the same thing at the end of the day... the header on ramshead was prob the best snow and skiing at K today. i know... its a blue cheese trail but all around decent skiing for the conditions.
i hate to see what happens to K if it rains a bunch this weekend.
if it does and you decide to go stay away (dont park anyway) from skyeship. that end of the trail is getting really bad. i would prob park at K1 and stay on that side. Bear mtn seemed to be the wettest....

sorry, no pics. to foggy anyway. :)

Totally agree with both! 2 minutes in to the first run, I stopped my kids and reminded them of our meeting spot in case we got separated. Even with them in yellow clothing, they quickly disappeared from site many times. Went to ski bumps but with the funky snow, I felt an injury was a definite. Opted to keep the kids company for a few runs on the terrain park over on Ramshead instead.
