A tale of 2 different days. Saturday was surprisingly cold. Was really amazed watching the car thermometer as I got further and further north then climbed up 4 out of Rutland. Started up on Northridge then worked our way over to Needles Eye, made a stop over at Bear to watch some of the action, then ended up back to Northridge before hitting the Umbrella Bar for a couple. Not much to say as it was mostly groomers as the bumps for the most part were hard as a rock. Did do a couple of runs each on Ridge Run and Powerline but that was it for bumps on Saturday.
Woke up Sunday to predicted rain but proceeded up to the mountain undeterred for the 8 am opening. A little sleet on the 1st Gondi ride up but that was it. Skied Northridge again and worked our way over thru Snowdon and over to Rams Head to say a seasonal goodbye. 1st 2 hours featured cloud cover but about 10 the sun burst out, the snow started to soften and things started to rock. A brief lunch at the car about 11ish then off to the summit and Needles Eye for what was to become a great afternoon. Highlights included Needles Eye bumps under the Gondola, Stitchline, Vertico then moving over to K1 for Downdraft, Escapade, and Big Dipper. One of those great spring days. 8).
