OK I could sure use some help here...I am thinking about going to either Killington or Okemo this season but I am not sure about the quality of the condo's in the rental pool operated by each Ski Company.

Anyone care to tell me about the condo's at both places...are they old, dirty, renovated and up to date, clean..worth the money?

Normally I go to Tremblant and all the condos are very nice, but with the dollar going the way of the paso I looks like skiing in VT this year.

Thanks

Never been in a Okemo condo, but the ones at Killington are real nice. The one I stayed in last year was for 6 people, but we fit more.(SSSHHHHHHH) It was very clean and a great deal. $206 3 days/nights tickets included midweek.

It has been awhile since I rented an Okemo slope side condo, but they were clean, in good repair and ski/ski out. The down side is Okemo condos are expensive.

I rented a house at Killington that was almost ski in/ski out near Bear that was expensive, very clean and very nice. It was close to where Judd Dugan's restaurant and there was access to a hot tub and heated paddle ball courts (which was strange).

The ones I've been to at Killington have been very nice. (Fall line and Sunrise). K does not actually own any of the condos, so the luxury of them can vary a bit, but all the ones I've seen have been kept in nice shape by their actual owners.

Sure Okemo has lots of blue cruisers, but not a down side as I had two kids to teach how to ski and skiing ight to the condo made logistics like clothing, food, beverages and nature's call. A couple of slope side weekends at Okemo skills and the egos soared enough to tackle more interesting terrain further north.

I do not rent at Okemo, but I can tell you a little about the quality of each. If you are looking for luxurious and slopeside, Solitude would be your answer. All of these condos are slopeside and top of the line. They also have their own sports center with spa, indoor/outdoor pool, and arcade. Towards the main base, Winterplace is right at the top of the beginner hill. Winterplace is also slopeside, but a little more dated. I imagine it is quite a bit cheaper, but I do not know rates. Another great thing about Winterplace is you save yourself having to go up one of those slow beginner lifts in the beginning, you just ski right down to the Northstar Expess. Going down the hill a bit, Ledgewood condominiums are fairly new and are mostly slopeside. Going down the hill a little more, we get to Kettlebrook condominums. They were the first to be built at Okemo so you can imagine that they are certainly dated, but are slopeside. Okemo Mountain lodge at the base are one bedroom/studios. They are right at the base allowing for convenient access to the slopes. Okemo Trailside condominiums are half-way up the mountain on the other side of Okemo. They are great for families due to their size and they allow for an early start. Brookhaven is a little out of the town of Ludlow, but are the most affordable. A convenient shuttle ride in from here is all. Brookhaven is also good for families.

If you are used to driving up to canada. why not go over to jay. They just built a ton of condos on the side of the hill. Went there last year and it was great.

if you are going with the family, there is no better choice than SMUGGS...awesome slopeside condos, fantastic ski school program and day care (depending on the ages of your kids) and some sick terrain for you...they have the indoor pool, fun zone, tubing, ice skating...

Just hope the weather isnt like the only time I have been there.....

It was the mid 90's MLK weekend I think and my family rented a condo up there for the weekend. 80 degrees out. There were 2 trails open on the mountain, and there were streams running across the trails. It was bad.......

In that weather, I think all ski areas would be like that...
