Skied Killington today, Friday Apr 15. Great weather, no waiting in lift lines but with a lot of stuff closed for a lack of snow or due to icy conditions, it seemed crowded at times on the trails.

It was cold last night so everything was really bulletproof until about 10am. There was a couple of hour long window when conditions were perfect spring snow, but soon thereafter it was just thick mashed potatoes over ice pretty much everywhere except Superstar, which was thin mashed potatoes smeared over ice. Superstar actually came into good nick about 3pm... but the day was winding down for us by then.

Hey, this is mid-April and such conditions are to be expected. And since I'm not a good bump skier, YMMV. My bud is a good bump skier and he had a great day.

Sure beats working!

did you end up skiing yesterday? was wondering how k fared. saturday reports had me freaked out.

No. It was coming down hard most of the morning. It was starting to clear a little around noon. Decided to get out of town and drink beers watching the Rangers game. Nothing was missed.

It was brutal up there when we spoke Sat night. I was freezing my ass off outside cooking and drinking beer.

Saturday and Sunday both sucked for skiing.
I think our entire house combined for about 20 runs the entire weekend. A couple people did one and done Saturday, a few did 2-3, one guy fit in a whole 10 runs. The only skiing activity I did was new F17s at Forerunner and new Kryptons at Northern. Love 50% off season.

Of course, the fire jumping induced broken heel Friday night and double concussion, car totalling accident returning from the hospital Saturday night had something to do with it as well.

I heard your house had a tough weekend. I feel bad for the guy with the broken heel that must really suck. Two weeks left at K as long as they don't close a week early like last year. 2 more chances for good weekend skiing.

god damn, you got in a wreck bringing someone back from the hospital? Was it your car and did anyone get seriously hurt?

Not me, two other friends coming back from visiting. Just minor concussions and scrapes, couple stitches here and there, but at 2am Sunday morning there were 3 people in the house admitted to the hospital and 2 others with them. Luckily the passenger lifted her legs before the second impact T-boned them and crunched in the floor, otherwise the injuries could've been much worse.

I was lucky to get out of the weekend with only about $50 stolen from my purse when I left it in the men's room for all of 5-10 minutes.

i'm confused

who broke their heal and got a concussion jumping a fire?
Friday:
A friend of mine, in my house, jumps fire, foot lands inside the fire pit, breaks heel when it catches on the rocks making up the fire pit. Discharged Sunday at about 10AM.

Saturday:
Two other friends, coming back from Rutland to visit broken heel guy, are coming up rt4 by Pico. Snowy/rainy/sleety, icy roads, car coming down the hill loses control. Both suffer accident related injuries (concussions and cuts,) make it back to the house around 10:30, two other friends take them back to the hospital.

You need to get a better handle on that thing.
