Just got off the phone with the snowmaking control room and the guns will be running early Wednesday morning. Temperatures are dropping at the peak and heavy snow is falling. We'll have an update and photos on Killington.com in the morning.

Tom,
Thanks, I thought I could count on you. Now please be sure to follow through

Kind of sad that Killington will be beat at their own game, or will they? Last year Killington was cocky with their we don't need so many skier visits attitude, it seemed to have worked. This year they seem more desperate to get skiers back. They actually called me the other day to let me know that season pass increase was approaching, that was suprising. And then they offered $100 off on season passes if you buy a $100 worth of goods from a Killington Chamber of Commerce member, hmm... olive branch to the town folks they offened and increased pass sales.

I would not at all be suprised if Killington went back to the Killington of old and pulls a fast one on everyone by beating the other resorts to the punch.

Snowmaking is on! As of 5:45 a.m. guns on Rime and High Traverse! We're also using our new Ratnik Low E and HKD Low E guns.
We also have 8 inches of new snow at the peak and 3-4 at the base of K-1. Cold temps should allow of round the clock snowmaking for the next 36-48 hours.

Spinmaster, I'm sure it's just an oversight, but you forgot to change opening date on your conditions page. Simple change, just take off the 4. Kind of like Powdr loosing the "e"

"Wax On! Scheduled opening day is Friday, Nov. 14."

agree with z, would love to seem them drop the "4" or even the "1" from nov 14.

You may want to check a different weather page. You're obviously getting bogus weather info.

You may also want to use a different map of the northeastern United States as well. Mount Washington is not in Central Vermont.

Nope, just the National weather service flight level winds/temps forcast, which isn't calling for the cold air (even then it's still just calling for temps between 24 and 30) between 3,000 and 6,000 feet to establish themselves until after 3AM.

Mount Washington in a storm like this where the center of the storm is still SW of Vermont IS relevant since it gives an accurrate measure of the aloft temps that are FEEDING this storm until it passes.

Nope JerseyJoey, all my weather info was bogus. Who cares about the difference between actual air temp and the effects that humidity has on snowmaking ;) ;)
