With snowmaking scheduled to start here at Killington in 56 days (weather permitting of course), we’re getting pretty excited to play with some new toys.
We’re pitting snowmaking companies HKD and Techno Alpine against one another for an all out snowmaking war on the slopes of Killington this season. Two runs, two companies, may the best gun win!

Techno Alpine: http://www.technoalpin.com/us/produkte/ ... r-gun-a30/
On Lower Skyelark, the HKD SV10201 tower-mounted air/water guns will do its magic. While on Lower East Fall, the Techno Alpine A30 tower-mounted air/water gun will go to work on burying the slope. Both guns are Low Energy – meaning they make the same amount as our K3000 workhorse gun, but with up to 75 percent less energy.
We’ll have periodic updates throughout the season on the performance, output and of course quality of snow these guns produce.
Plus, we’re stoked to install two new Techno Alpine M18 fully automated fan guns this season, both in highly-visible locations where a ton of snow is needed to cover a vast area. The first one will be mounted on a 32-foot arm near the bottom of Mouse Trap/Bunny Buster. The second will be mounted on a 16-foot tower near the top of the Superpipe trail. Both guns will be operated from snowmaking control via computer.
Great, BUT WHAT ABOUT SNOWMAKING ON DEVILS FIDDLE????
