Drove up to the k last night and stayed at some fleabag motel in rutland. Met up with madriverjack this morning. Beautiful bluebird day..Guns were blazing on upper east fall, DD headwall, Highline, GN, Mousetrap, and a bunch of others. Snow was pretty good..Mousetrap was bumped up pretty good, but it was like playing effin dodgeball. Everything skied pretty good..Under the guns on Eastfall was the best in the canyon area, but sadly no bump lines formed. Had a nice cold one outside the umbrella bar..Then ripped a few more on mousetrap..All in all not an epic day, but a great day!

Skiing was pretty good Fri. for what they had open. The slopes & lifts weren't crowded at all. Sat. was another story. I now remember why I don't ski weekends. Lift lines weren't bad, only North Ridge had a little wait. To many dam people on the trails though. Didn't really enjoy skiing Sat. but enjoyed the company of friends .

I was there Saturday and it was quite the scene. I enjoyed myself and it was worth the $30 I spent on it but it was definately a ROD. I give them credit for having an skiing at all as the weather is just wrong. At one point I waited at the junction of Mouse Run and Great Northern about 10 minutes to get a break in the traffic to actually make some turns. Had fun on Mouse trap till my first day legs wore out. Worst run of the day was Caper back to the Rams Head lodge where they were blowing snow at marginal temps causing a wet sticky surface and cruded up goggles, just miserable.

Upper Bunny Buster was the same way Sat. Not the goggle part because taking the guns head on was avoidable but when you hit a section where the snow was falling it was like putting on the brakes.

To bad they groomed out upper east fall Sat. because Fri. it was bumped up & had the best skiing on the mountain. Mouse trap was in better shape Fri. also even though it was a narrower strip. The guns weren't on Mouse Trap Fri. & the upper flat part was a little sketchy but the steeper part was bumped up & in better shape (not nearly as scratchy as Sat.).

Best conditions I found on Sat. was the upper part under the Snowdon triple (forget the name of the trail). Not the most challenging trail but it had good snow on it.

Probably past each other a few times as that is where I found the best snow as well. I actually lapped the poma several times for that one. That's Mouse Run btw and at its junction with Great Northern coming from North Ridge is where I stood one run for a long time waiting for the carnege to clear. The bumps that developed just below there and above the poma were a lot of fun when you had room to ski them.

Yeah I was surprised to see that section so bumped up on Sat. It wasn't like that at all on Fri.
I just don't like skiing with so many people on the trail. Feel like I'm just dodging people instead of actually skiing. Oh well it will probably be my only weekend day all season except for the last day of the season which is usually a Sun. Killington is two completely different ski areas weekdays vs. weekends.
