A while ago in a post someone said they owned a Land Rover Freelander. I searched and I can not find the post and am hoping to get some feedback about your ownership experience. I am looking to see what you get for mpg, reliability and overall opinion of it. My concern is reliability & the fact the LR facility is 45 minutes away. I found a new 2005 and I want to consider it as a replacement for my current vehicle.

Not a big fan of LR. I had a Range Rover for a while, my happiest day was when I retrurned it. Reliability has been an issue for LR for years and it hasnt gotten any better. A friend of mine just picked up a 2006 LR Sport and i having all sorts of issues. I love European cars, I have an Audi currently (as well as 3 previous Audis) and never had an issue with any of them. Cost factor was high on the LR (Repairs/Maintence etc) as compared to my Audi. I also have a Nissan Armada, you just cannot kill a Jap engine (nissan/toyota etc)

From personal experience, and from reviews from friends with LR's, I'd stay clear,,,,,beautiful looking cars, but it ends about there.

I have a 03 Land Rover Discovery and have never had a problem with it. There service is the best that I have ever had. I get a courtesy car everytime I bring my car in no questions asked. They also give you a car wash everytime the car is in for service. I have no experence with the freelander but I am sure the service would be the same.

i think with LR's is you either love em or hate em. You either get one that will last for ever and never have an issue, or you get a lemon, seems pretty black and white with LR's....I love the looks of em and if I didnt have a bad 1st experience I would have a LR Sport right now
