Have you gotten new skis yet?
Not yet. Just never got to it last season. I'm going to try to demo some this season, or perhaps pick up a pair of '05 Volkl 724 EXP (which I've demoed) or maybe Dyna Legend 8000s (which I haven't demoed, but get recommended everywhere...).

I worked in the industry and never had speration between work and play. There are Pro and Con argements. I am happier not making a living at my hobby.

Couldn't agree more. I've worked at many ski areas and had the same seperation issues. Having a management job (salary) at a ski area is the pits. Every place I've done so has required 60 to 70 hours a week of my time during ski season. So, even when you have the spare time to actually enjoy the mountain, you still somewhat feel like your at work.

Back to the thread topic. My goals this winter are simply to have fun, push myself when I'm out there and to not get hurt. Keeping my goals simple generally leads to the better season. If I start labeling goals in terms of days out and terrain skied, I come up short. If I keep it simple, I suprise myself and end up spending more time on the snow.

I have been names Patrol Director at Pine Ridge Snow Park in Barre, MA for the 2005-2006 ski season.

I'd like to continue my quest to ski all areas in New England. Once this is complete, I'd like to start on New York State.

I'd like to take a trip out west an am currently looking into several possibilities.

I'd like to bring my National Ski Patrol status to what it was before I took 4 years off. To do this I will have to get my instructor certifications back in toboggan handling and OEC (The official first aide course of the NSP).

I'd like to resume my work on senior status with the NSP. I have senior status in OEC (first aide).

I'd like to meet and ski with more people from AZ and another site I frequent.

...and I have a personal goal or two I'd like to achieve.

My main goal: Ski in November. I skiied December 4th in 2003 and December 6th in 2004. Hopefully I can say I skiied Killington on November 14, 2005 or Wachusett on November 25, 2005.

Hopefully someday I can say I've skiied in every month. Not this year though.

1) Ski more
2) Don't kill myself
3) Ski in November again
4) LEARN THE FRICKEN MOGULS
5) MORE GLADES
6) More confidence in the park, land a 360 (a small one, so as not to comprimise goal #2)
7) Ski Tuckerman's
8) Did I mention learning moguls?
9) Drive fast in the snow with the new S4, again without comprimising goal #2

My main goal for the moguls and glades is I can basically ski anything now with out them, crud, groomed, potatoes, whatever. But I want the revel in the feeling of not having to look at a trail map and not care where I end up. I want the confidence to know I can at least cleanly make it down anywhere on a given mountain.

Seems like bumps and glades are on the minds of many. I still like goals with numbers. They have any easy way to measure them. The AZ race team will help get my days out higher. I like that.

Yes. But having a license didn't help. (but it did give my dad an excuse to sleep the whole way up to Wildcat will I was forced to drive)

I got that done, with 3 days over Thanksgiving weekend at Wachusett after about 8" of new snow over the weekend. My other 2 goals that I posted somewhere else were 30 days and MRG, both of which I accomplished. My list this year:

1. Ski MRG and Sugarbush AGAIN
2. 40 Days
3. Ski in May?
4. Ski before Thanksgiving
5. Ski at Burke
6. Ski at Ragged
7. Ski at Beast on a powder day
8. Get in the woods more (only really did it at Smuggs this year)
9. Ski Stowe
10. Go to BMMC again, that was FUN in the SUN
