And is probably 50.

I know of literally no one under that age that is part of one of these clubs. DH really dated himself on this one.

Damn, I wish I live closer to Mt Washington, not sure how much skiing would get done.
Anyone one know if you need to live in the state of the club that it originates from and go to their meeting to be a member?
I guess it could be a club by club basis.
A member on here sent me a PM with great info on what looks like one that may work very well.

You're a moron Adironrider. You should probably stick to Jackson discussions because you are way off base here.

Except for this season, I've spent more time at Wildcat than anywhere else since about 2012. My two best ski buddies at Wildcat belong to Makasue which is 50/50 male to female ratio.

Now enough with your bullshit and patently false assumptions and here is the truth about the club scene.

There are about 20 clubs in the valley. A few of them are family oriented, a handful skew a little older, but the vast majority have members mainly in their mid 20s to early 30s and their houses all ski hard and party harder. The members often say they belong to a drinking club with a skiing problem. The women tend to be either ex high school or college racers that participate in the EICSL race league or young professionals from metro Boston or Portland who simply love to ski and hang out in the valley. There are plenty of attractive, single female skiers in the MWV club scene. Pretty much all the clubs only accept single members over the age of 21. No couples.

Now contrast that with my experience ski bumming in Stowe 20-25 years ago. There was barely a hint of single, female ski bums. Pretty much the only time girls became available were ones who moved to town with their boyfriends and ended up breaking up.

I live a life of very few regrets, but not getting involved in the MWV ski club scene when I was single and in my 20s would definitely be one of them. It's a helluva a good time. Quite frankly I'm surprised there's not a long waiting list to join.

I don't have any reason to doubt you, but it's just almost too good to be true. A singles only ski club filled with attractive female ex racers who may or may not be successful professionals from Boston?

Its like a ski-bums dream. And for only $465 a season. Better then Ikon.

You are probably right on this. Went to a few ski club meetings awhile back just to see what they were about. Being a ski club member gave you access to lots of discounted days through the NY Metropolitan Council program. The members were mostly older guys with their wives. Average age probably 55+. Definitely not the party scene I imagined, but everyone was cool.

This is the car keys in the bowl party scene.

This is very accurate! I spent numerous hours trying to find family clubs to help lower weekend costs and increase my days on snow and there are only two in MWV - Prospectors and Fall River Ski Club. I never pursued them because you have to bunk sleep men and women separately and my daughter would have to be alone with strangers many weekends. Also my wife did not dig the lay out. Can't beat the money though.

Sterling ski club is based in Stratford CT. They have a lodge about 1/2 mile from Mt Snow, and another at the base of Mt Ellen, which can be ski-in/ski-out in the right conditions. They are family friendly. Cheap dues and @ $25 per night to stay.

The only hot girls I remember at Stowe besides the occasional outlier, were imported from foreign South American nations & worked in the cafeteria.

If there's not a porno that starts this way, there should be.

I have seen that one as well. I haven't been able to convince the wife it's not slave labor and we would have our own area together.

Theres a South Attleboro ski club right on route 3 before Bretton Woods, not sure about the couple thing but you would need to live in South Attleboro or know someone who could get you in.

As a manager of just such a facility, no offense but I would say you are not the kind of member we look for. Most such facilities need to maximize bed space to cover expenses - so forget about a private room. And they all require some cleaning commitment - no different than what is needed in your own home, or if you shelled out the crazy $$$ for a seasonal rental. We have a number of 'young-uns' among our new members, who find affordable lodging with like-minded folks to be enjoyable. It does require a certain commitment to a sense of community responsibility, so is definitely not for everyone.

Not quite sure who this was directed at. If me regarding the slave labor comment, that's how my wife feels. As far as dorm style sleeping, well that is me worrying about my daughter being young. I am aware of a couple houses that have private rooms with 3/4 person accommodations but again my wife is not convinced.

Another option is the share house. These exist at several mountains, but I get the impression Killington has way more than elsewhere.

In a share house you buy a bed, or a room, for the whole season, or every other week for the whole season. (That's called a half share) So for your every other weekend schedule, a 1/2 share could work very well. Each house is different in their member makeup, age range, married vs single or mixed, party house or get up early. Unfortunately there is no central clearing house so it will take some research to find a house that suits your needs. Good resources are google (Killington share house) Mountain Times classifieds in the summer/fall, Killingtonzone in the housing forum. Some houses have an any open bed policy (which I would hate) and some you get your own dedicated room. Leave your stuff there. No more toting skis boots, skis, and sheets and pillows every weekend.

When you buy a 1/2 share and a season pass, your cost per weekend goes way down, you make new friends, and your ski days go up.

And yes, single women do exist. A lot are low-mid intermediates on the hunt, some 25-30 and single, some 40 post divorce. One was an awesome bumper. I did meet one ex racer fashion diva. In fact, some ski houses are all female. The overall ratio is still low, so it's not "a target rich environment". But if you want to meet someone, there's the lift line, the slopes, the resort bar, the happy hour bar, Ski house parties (many houses are social with other houses) , the Wobbly and the Pickle. All that said, I met my non skier wife in a city after work bar, not a ski bar. Our first trip together was the Bahamas. Then I taught her to ski.

The used to be a bunch at Mount Snow. My neighbor ran one, it's where I met my wife. No sure how many there are these days near MS.
