Loon 12/30/10

Expecting the worst, and looking at the forecast of -35 windchill I almost didn't go today...

Glad I did though.

Loon recovered nicely from last weeks rain event, with pretty much the whole mountain covered in manmade+ 4" of natural that came down mid-week. I didn't check out some of the natural/typically bumped up runs (Angel/Dipper), but most of the mountain ski'd pretty well.. Crowds weren't bad, sun was out, and another gread cold winter day on the hill... I dressed warm and was actually a bit hot --

My picks of the day were: Rumrunner, Blue Ox, Picked Rock, Flying Fox, Walking Boss, Lower Flume. May be back next Sunday, or could check out Cannon...

Disappointed that I missed out (GF and I bagged the Loon weekend on account of illness on both of our parts)...

Hopefully I get a couple Loon days in before the end of the year.

In other news: Have they been letting Angel St. bump up this year? In years past it's been a steep groomer that they seem to groom every night.

I've been out on a few days where its been bumped up... looking at the snow report today it looks like it was groomed. I'm pretty sure they groomed everything after last mondays R@!#....

On new years weekend, triple trouble was bumped up nice.... probably need another good storm before that reopens though.

Loon has recovered quite well! Was out there yesterday and today, today was awesome no wind, no no no crowds!
