Loon Mountain
High 60's, possibly warmer– Blue Sky & Sunshine
From 9:20 to 3:25, Jay G & I cruised the terrain which consisted of soft snow, which formed nice soft, bumps everywhere a trail was open, which in today’s case was most of the mountain.
The West Side of the mountain lift operations was closed today however the Summit was service by the Gondola and the North Peak was serviced by the North Peak Quad.
Angel Street was in great shape from headwall to the East Basin junction with Big Dipper. The north peak trails had some very nice terrain. I especially enjoyed Walking Boss top-to-bottom.
The Summit Café was open and serving delicious Chicken Gumbo and Red Stripes. Camp III had their deck going all day with lots of pretty gal’s enjoying the sunshine in between their runs.
We saw lots of smiles today; I had a big one. It was a great day for last day. No lines anywhere and the terrain was fabulous and lots of sunning...
Special thanks to Dave C for meeting us at the Summit Café for lunch…and bringing the Golden Nectar…
No word on the South Peak area opening or when they plan to open next fall. I’ll be there for Octoberfest, how about you?
