It seems pretty clear threecy's only motive is to cause trouble with every post he makes. Don't you think it's about time Alpine Zone throws this guy off the site? No need for the constant bogus smear campaigns against ski areas. It's non stop negativity from this guy an sad Alpine Zone has let this guy get so out of control.

Some come to read this forum for enjoyment and all you read about is this guy spreading BS and negativity. My taxes, my taxes.......Worse than a crooked politician.

Has anyone told you about the AZ forum initiation rite? You can't just start posting. The first step is to post what you are having for lunch for a month.

Join date = first post = flame is a sure way to fail the initiation.

We'll check in on Oct 6th to see how you are doing.

Signed,

One excellent way to avoid scaring people is to not perpetuate unsubstantiated rumors on the internet. Especially in extremely vague ways.

I was refusing to condemn the rebuilding of the main bridge of Loon. I repeated a local rumor as to why it was important to rebuild that bridge. Telemechanic, who has forgotten more than I know about Loon, squashed that rumor, with facts. End of story.

Was that your plan all along?

I haven't yet checked if this is an alias, but generally having an opinion that isn't popular isn't grounds for throwing anyone off the site. There are plenty here who seem to do a good job refuting posts where refuting is needed :)

PRESS RELEASE Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Loon Mountain's Temporary Two-Lane Vehicular Bridge Slated to Open by Thanksgiving

Normal winter operations will proceed as usual, with vehicle access to the Resort for the winter season

Date: Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Lincoln, NH, November 9, 2011: The damaged Loon Mountain Resort bridge, which provides access to the Resort from Route 112/The Kancamagus Highway, is being replaced by a temporary, two-lane vehicular bridge with a sidewalk, until the main bridge can be repaired next spring. This will allow normal winter operations to proceed as usual. In the meantime, there is alternate vehicular access is available via the South Peak Bridge, located two miles to the west in the town of Lincoln.

Construction of the temporary bridge is being handled by the NH Department of Transportation (NH DOT) and is underway. The bridge is expected to be in place and open by Thanksgiving. Repair work on the main bridge is slated to begin next spring, after the ski season ends, and will be conducted by an independent third-party contractor to be hired by the Town of Lincoln. The timeline for repair work and the main bridge reopening is not yet available.

Tropical Storm Irene dumped up to 10" of rain over the area on August 28, causing the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River to flood, undermining the bridge abutments and rendering Route 112/The Kancamagus Highway impassable east of the Resort. NH DOT closed the bridge on August 28 and then a portion of the bridge collapsed on August 31. Route 112/The Kancamagus Highway was opened a week ahead of schedule, on September 10, in plenty of time for the important foliage season.

"We would like to thank Governor Lynch, who recognizes the importance of tourism and the ski industry to the State's economy, and who made a quick resolution possible in time for the important upcoming winter ski season, said Rick Kelley, Loon Mountain Resort's president and general manager. We would also like to thank NH DOT, the Town of Lincoln and all the utility companies for their many hours of work on an aggressive schedule to reopen this important access to Loon Mountain."

Thanks to Colman & Sons Inc. who removed the damaged span and prepared the site, The New Hampshire DOT who will install the temporary bailey and the town of Lincoln who owns the bridge. Loon, like its skiers, will benefit greatly from all their hard work.
