I have 2 Loon vouchers which we are unable to use. I'm most likely heading for Loon on Friday, so my preference is to hand them off and share some turns, but otherwise I can mail them. No cost, of course.

PM me. First come first served with a Friday override.

Oh yeah..they are for lift tickets (not 2 or 1 or half price or whatever).

Do you or martin have any sugarloaf discounts for not this weekend but next. I may be back in time to close my season back east but am desperately looking for any kind of discount...

Will the river be open. It would seem right to close it down where I opened it up.

Flume is now closed...maybe they have bumps on Upper Walking Boss?

Kudos to Loon for hanging in there.

I've been checking the trail report and it seemed like it closed when the weather turned cold again. i was hoping it was closed because it froze solid.

oh well, guess i'll just hope k makes it a few more weeks.

No idea about open terrain at Loon, but it looks like Sunday River is closing 4/15, so I doubt they would be open beyond that regardless of snow conditions, if they even choose to stay open beyond this weekend. Anything is possible, but it would be a first for Boyne to keep Loon open as long as Sunday River, let alone longer.

closing date

Loon is planning to stay open through April 11th. Lower Flume was open today with bumps and Upper Walking Boss is sometimes left bumped in the Spring. Check the snow report for the grooming icon, today it was marked groomed but that doesn't always mean edge to edge.

I suppose good weather and plenty of people this weekend could make them want to extend the season past the 11th. So come up for the Slush Pool Party on Saturday or Easter Sunrise Services at the summit on Sunday and cast your vote for a longer season...

Just curious, any idea why they chose a Wednesday?

I hear that they were closing after this weekend. An April 11 closing is odd but not unheard of.

BTW, lower Flume was the trail we poached last Sunday. It was skiing really well. Both upper and lower Walking Boss were the runs of the day though. The parks were all open, including the halfpipe.

4/11 is the last day Loon has groups scheduled to visit. The last two weeks they're hosting school groups from the UK who other mountains had to pass-off when either their seasons ended or appropriate terrain for these groups was closed. When the date was set a couple weeks ago (after all the 70-80 degree weather) things were looking bleak so a conservative closing date was set.

I had a wonderful wreck on the lip of the half pipe.:spin:
