I have to tell you, the conditions at MRG today were AWESOME, and I don't use that word lightly. The storm wasn't a major dumping, but it has continued to snow lightly for the last 36 hours and it has started to pile up. Even though there were a lot of skiers, there were woods areas and even major trails all over the place that had untracked or barely tracked powder.

I took a turn down one run with large moguls, only to discover that the "moguls" were about as substantial as a big pile of cotton balls. I don't know if it was the wind, or what, but there was a pile of snow higher than my waist.

It was great fun to see middle aged guys exploding from the woods in a spray of powder, whooping it up like a bunch of teenagers.

Jim from the board was also up there somewhere (he's staying at the inn), taking a back woods clinic. I am envious.

It's supposed to keep snowing lightly throughout the night, so I'm hoping to go up again tomorrow morning. I'll probably hit Sugarbush on Friday.

An epic day to be sure. While it did not seem to snow heavily in the valleys, MRG was getting dumped on and got 1" an hour from late afternoon on Tuesday through 2pm on Wednesday. Great, light, fluffy POW POW.

Melinda and Michael are gracious hosts and we enjoyed our stay at the Golden Lion tremendously. More details later.
