Resort: Magic

Conditions: Powder / packed powder

Report:

Drove up from North Jersey. Left home at 4:50am. Got to Fort Lee, NJ at 5:20, picked up my friend Peter. Arrived at the Diner around Rt. 7 by 9:10am. Had breakfast and got on the lift by 10:30. Left the parking lot at 4:40pm. Got back to Fort Lee at 9pm.

Had not done a day trip to Vermont in 20 years. It was a lot of fun.

Found out my camera battery was dead. So, no pix.

6-12" of new pow. The sun was out for most of the day.
-Started out riding Upper and Lower Wizard. Flat groomed. Good condition.
-Then moved to The Sorcerer. Legit a foot of powder. Ungroomed and bumped up top to bottom. Found a lot of untracked pow.
- Then went on to Enchanted Forest to Twilight Zone. It was awesome. Some barespots and rocks, but no big deal. Ungroomed all bumped up.
- Then took the Witch down to Gori Glade. Just as awesome. Ungroomed all bumped up. Came down on Show O. Groomed, packed pow. Found some freshies on the sides.
- Then went on Witch to Red Line. Great pow, but found quite a bit of rocks and barespots. then connected to Carumba and Lower Red Line.
- Then went to Broomstick, which was icy in somespots, but no biggies. Connected to Heart of Magician to Lower Magician. Plenty of pow. Ungroomed. By around 3pm the pows were getting frozen abit.

I was able to tell some crust beneath the pows. Maybe about 6" below the pows slowing you down on some less steeper trails, but all in all it was a great day.
Had read some of you AZers raving about this place, so I gave it a try for the first time.
Was a great choice. Thanks to some of you.

My favorite run was the Sorcerer. But, it was my buddies first time snowboarding bumps and his favorite was Heart of Magician to Lower Magician, so we did that a few more times before heading home.
